Thursday
26th April 2001 - Don't forget Monday!
Don't
forget about a very special record out on Monday 30th April.
STEPHEN
GATELY's new single STAY will be released on 2 CDs and cassette.
The limited edition CD2 features US, Hear'Say, interviewing Stephen
with twenty of the best questions sent in by his fans.
Stephen has been a very good friend to Hear'Say. Before they had
released their debut single "Pure and Simple", at a time
when they were very nervous about embarking on their Popstars adventure,
Stephen interviewed them for a very special Popstars Magazine by
the makers of Smash Hits.
Stephen
offered a great deal of help and useful advice on how to deal with
Popstardom. They felt honoured and jumped at the chance to return
the favour when Stephen asked to interview him for his new single
'STAY'.
CD2 is STRICTLY LIMITED for 1 WEEK ONLY.

23rd April 2001 - Hear'Say's Kym wants to share boys' flat with
Noel and Danny
Kym
from Hear'Say wants to put an end to her bandmates' plans for a
boys-only flat.
Noel
and Danny hope to share a flat together in London. But Kym says
she wants to move in as well because she's from the north and doesn't
know anyone in London.
Danny
told The Sun: "Noel and I are going to have loads of DVDs, a
bar, football table and a pool table." But Kym said: "I don't
want to live by myself. I'd rather move in with these guys. "I don't
know anybody in London apart from the band. It's not fair - they've
got lives and I haven't."

Monday
23rd April 2001 - Not so Pure and Simple
Just
six months ago, we had no idea who they were. Since then, they've
been plastered on the cover of every newspaper, they've had the
most successful debut single ever, selling over 500,000 copies in
just one week and their album has charted at No 1. But life isn't
all a bed of roses for Hear'Say.
This
weekend, the group faced the starkest reminder of the consequences
of their rapid rise to fame, when explicit pictures of Suzanne taking
part in a video shot by a former lover were printed in yesterday's
Sunday People.
On
the same day, the Sunday Mirror printed a story claiming Suzanne
can't afford the rent on a cottage she's planning to move into,
while the News Of The World featured shots of Myleene sunbathing
topless on holiday.
Last
weekend, one of the tabloids printed photographs of Noel kissing
a male friend, fuelling speculation about his sexuality and forcing
his mother to deny that he is gay in an interview with a rival paper.
While
the Spice Girls and Atomic Kitten faced similar press over Geri
Halliwell's and Kerry Katona's topless modelling and all celebrities
have to deal with friends and exes selling stories, Hear'Say have
been hit far harder than any other band around. As soon as the group
were revealed to the public, the tabloids set about hunting for
details of their past, starting with the fact that Kym has two young
children.
But
although tabloid stories are notorious for being more rumour than
truth, Hear'Say's rather chequered past appears to be providing
more than enough raw material for stories about them. The group
certainly deserve sympathy for what they've been put through, but
with most stories accompanied by photographic evidence, one can't
help wondering whether Hear'Say have brought their bad press on
themselves.

Sunday
22nd April 2001 - Hear'Say fans disappointed by brief show
Hear'Say
have disappointed some of their fans by delivering a tantalisingly-brief
four-song performance.
Hundreds
of fans had turned out for MTV's Five Night Stand at north London's
Ocean Club in Hackney to hear Noel, Suzanne, Mylene, Kym and Danny
perform. But they were let down by a short set squeezed between
boy bands A1 and Five.
Chris
Nevin, 25, of London, said: "I was really disappointed because
I love them, I absolutely love them but they let themselves down.
"They should focus on producing great songs rather than on what
they look like - they thought they could get away with a couple
of songs because it was a young audience. "
And
13-year-old Tania Ginday from Gravesend, Kent, who had been bought
a ticket for her birthday, said: "I thought they were great but
they could have done more songs. "Not all of the songs were theirs
- my mum has got the song Bridge Over Troubled Water."
The
group opened their set with their number one hit Pure And Simple
to rapturous applause and delighted squeals. They then sang Way
To Your Love from the Popstars album, followed by their version
of Simon and Garfunkel's Bridge Over Trouble Water and another track
from their album, entitled One. The crowd gleefully danced and waved
as the band belted out the songs but were left standing rather awkwardly
when the band swiftly left the stage after the fourth song.

Saturday
21st April 2001 - Hear'Say Noel isn't gay, says mum
Hear'Say
star Noel Sullivan's mum says he's not gay. His mother Claire phoned
a local radio station after a DJ discussed photos of him kissing
another man.
Thousands
of listeners to Cardiff-based Real Radio heard a furious Claire
tell listeners: "My son's not gay."
Noel,
20, has said he is too busy to find a woman. Claire said Noel was
just larking about and added: "His personal life is private."
But she added: "People's sexual preference is their
own business."

Thursday
19th April 2001 - Hear'Say's Kym wants to buy a new smile
Hear'Say's
Kym Marsh is reported to have spent £5,000 on getting her teeth
straightened.
She
apparently believes her teeth make her look gummy. So she has been
to a number of appointments with a top Harley Street dentist.
According
to The Sun, the dental work should be finished by the summer. A
friend of Kym's told the paper: "She realises her teeth aren't
her best feature, and now that a bit of money has started to come
in she wants to buy a new smile. "Although £5,000 may sound a lot,
Kym reckons it will be worth it because she cringes at herself in
photos and on telly."

Wednesday
18th April 2001 - "Give us a break" say Hear'Say
Pop band Hear'Say, the chart-topping five-piece formed in a TV documentary
series, are calling on their more long-established critics to "give
us a break".
On
a flying visit to Dublin to announce their first Irish concert date
the band were asked about their latest detractor -- local heartthrob
Ronan Keating -- who reportedly dismissed their debut single "Pure
and Simple" as "not a great record".
"People
like that need to give us a break and think 'we were there once',"
said band member Kym Marsh. "Ronan started out with Boyzone who
did mostly covers."
Keating
is not the first well-known star to take a swipe at the current
crop of "manufactured" teen bands -- U2's Bono and George Michael
have also been critical.
"I
don't listen to anyone else, we have had so many knocks from people
who have been doing it for years and years," said Noel Sullivan.
"Everybody has their time and their chance."
Hear'Say
insist they have not been overcoached by their management team.
"People
got to know what we were like from the TV show," said Myleene.
"If we were to give textbook answers no-one would believe us."
The
band said they were still living in the house where they were installed
by the TV show's producers after being chosen from the auditions.
"It's
like getting all your best friends together and having a sleepover
all the time. We have such a laugh," said Noel. "When we
do have to move out and get our own places we are going to miss
each other -- we're like The Waltons," added Kym.
Popstars
also made a star out of selection judge Nigel Lythgoe, whose caustic
comments on the less musical hopefuls delighted viewers, and the
band have got used to fielding questions about "Nasty Nigel". "I
don't think nasty Nigel was nasty at all," said Danny. "He
played a character and he told the truth. He said exactly what people
were thinking at home."
Hear'Say
are performing at The Point, in Dublin, on September 26.

16th April 2001 - Hear'Say hol blues
Ain't
it sweet? Hear'Say HATED being apart during their week off work.
The
three girls went abroad on separate trips while the two boys stayed
at home. But Myleene Klass said, "We really missed each
other and we were on the phone all the time".
Noel
Sullivan added, "We couldn't wait to be together again.
It feels like we are family".

Thursday
12th April 2001 - Sexy Suzy Fella's a pool star
(Article
from The Sun newspaper). SEXY Hear'Say singer Suzanne Shaw is clearly
getting to grips with her success - and so is boyfriend Andrew Warner.
Andrew,
35, grabbed giggling Suzanne, 19, then hurled her into a swimming
pool as they frolicked on holiday.
Popstars
beauty Suzanne had set temperatures soaring as she chilled out on
Fuertaventura, in the Canary Islands. An onlooker said: "She
seemed to be having a whale of a time. Hear'Say have been everywhere
over the past few weeks so she probably needed a break. "She seems
to be taking the fame game well. She was signing autographs for
kids and being really friendly."
All
members of chart-topping Hear'Say are taking time off following
two months of promotional work throughout Britain for their single
Pure and Simple.

Tuesday
10th April 2001 - Pubstar Danny
Hear'Say
star Danny Foster popped into his local for a pint - and ended up
belting out the group's No! hit on the karaoke machine.
Danny,
21, was so overwhelmed with his reception at the tiny back-street
boozer he jumped on stage, grabbed the mike and burst into a solo
version of Pure and Simple.
The
impromptu performance left the crowd yelling for more. So Danny
- who found fame on ITV'S Popstars show - launched into Vam Morrison's
Have I Told You Lately.
Danny
usd to be a frequent visitor to The Baring Arms - and developed
his singing talent in karaoke contests there.
He
told The Sun newspaper, "This is where it all started for
me. It's nice coming back to my roots."
Ex-cleaner
Danny was showered with kisses and pleas for autographs when he
arrived at the pub in Hoxton, East London.
He
was joined by his mum Tracy, girlfriend Chloe Price, 19, and grandparents.
Danny
bought up on a tough estate in Hackney, said: "It's been
brilliant to see everyone."
Ex-landlady
Anita O'Leary was there to greet Danny. And current pub boss Sharon
McDonals said: "It was lovely to see him again."

from the band so that she can see her two children. Kym is due to
take her children to Disneyland Paris for four days - and her
parents are coming along to see the sights of the city.
'We're
going to be there for four days,' says Kym. 'I've told the
kids and they're really pleased. My parents are coming as well -
they deserve a treat, too.''I always wanted to go when I was a kid
but I couldn't because we couldn't afford it. So we're going to
take them away and give them a decent holiday because they deserve
it.'
